ABSTRACT
The integration of ideological and political courses into the teaching of public English courses in higher vocational colleges is an inevitable measure to adapt to the current trend of China’s economic and social development. Based on the analysis of the ideological and political functions and strategies of public English courses, this paper proposes ways to improve the ideological and political quality of English teachers, create teaching materials that are closely integrated with ideological and political elements, and improve the classroom ideological and political teaching mode to achieve higher vocational public education.
